Cleopatra

Name: Cleopatra aka Queen aka Queenie

Age: 6 1/2

Other Dogs: No

Cats: No

Spayed

Up to Date on all vaccinations

We have a Queen in search of her castle. Queen Cleopatra aka Queenie is a 6 1/2 syear old, spayed Catahoula Mastiff Mix who prefers to be the only ruler in her land.  For the past 6 months she has been ruling the land of Tillamook K9 Rescue, and she dreams of greener pastures with a nice place to sunbathe and maybe an area that is okay for burying her favorite toys. While she will tolerate some dogs she has had a previous bad past experience and she would like to be the only queen in this castle.  She enjoys walks on her harness and is a big fan of car rides.  She loves hanging her head out the window and nodding to her royal subjects.  When she gets tired she also likes resting her head on her royal driver's shoulder.

Our Queenie is a large girl weighing in around 92 pounds. She doesn't always show well as her past has made her a little untrusting and a bit shy at first until she gets to know you.  She is a real love though and will get the zoomies when she sees her favorite people.

If you would like to know more about her Majesty and are interested in providing her a forever home please reach out to Tillamook K9 Rescue by leaving a message on our voicemail line 866-364-7377 or emailing TillamookK9@gmail.com

PENNY

Penny is a loyal and sweet companion who is looking for a home with someone who is able to give her the care and attention she needs. Penny is a 3.5 year, 55 lb, Pitmix. She is very loving of those in her inner circle but can take time to warm up to new people. She is anxious, so needs a home without other dogs, cats or small children. She loves playing fetch, going on long off leash walks and swimming. She also loves to sit around and cuddle. She is crate trained and does great with an e-collar, but needs help with being on a leash. She will do great in a home with people who can dedicate time to give her extra attention, training and love. If you want to learn more about Penny, please contact us at sara.oltman@gmail.com.

OTTO

Meet Otto!

He is a super sweet snuggle bug who loves being spoiled. He is about 4-5 yrs old and 47 lbs of Texas mutt. Staffordshire terrier/hound?? He is short and long. Chocolate chip cookie dough color, tater-tot shape.

He loves to be around people. His favorite hobbies are laying in the sun, doing a few zoomies in the yard, laying next to you while you watch movies (pass some popcorn please;) and going on fair-weather-walks. He is accustomed to snuggling with you on the furniture and loves being on his blankets. He likes to have his teeth brushed and does great at bath time. He loves to go on car rides and does really well.

He was found wandering the streets- starving, missing a toe nail, and heartworms. He’s been nursed back to health, current on all vaccines, and is on heart guard. He is microchipped, up to date on all shots, neutered, potty trained, leash trained, and knows how to sit, shake, and wait. He responds very well to positive training! He has been nice to all friends and other dogs when we go on walks or have people over.

We adopted him to be a bestie for our other dog. The sad part is, unfortunately, he would be better off as an only dog. He has been traumatized from his nights on the streets and feels the need to fight our other dog for his food. After consulting with a behaviorist, we think he needs a home with no other dogs. However we will keep him if we do not find a suitable home.

When we have both dogs out for a walk, treats can be handed out to both of them, sitting together, frequently, with no issues. But if he is around another dog and food is on the counter, sometimes he feels compelled to fight for it. People can reach in his food and move it around with no issues. We can take things away from him and he has never reacted at all.

He is also crate trained and sometimes wanders in and chews on his toys. He will bark when left alone in the crate. When we have to leave, he is un-crated in a room with chew toys and our other dog. They can see out the window- he does not bark at the window or at other dogs.

He is very vocal when he plays so he will need a friend who understands that. He is very playful with our friend’s dog. Large dogs make him nervous.

If you are able to thoroughly spoil Otto, offer him a loving and positive reward based home- please contact me!

$200 rehoming fee- that we will donate to Family Dog New Life Shelter. Children and cats are unknown. You must own your own home and have a fenced yard.

Please let me know if you have any questions or would like to meet Mr Otto! If you are interested please email for information and/or application form.

Poncho

Greetings! I’m Pancho.

I’m a sweet and delightful fellow who has come a long way from my rough start in life...

I was discovered on the street by a couple of kind hearted flight attendants who were on a layover in Zihuatanejo, Mexico. They could clearly see that I was limping with gruesome open wounds on my back legs and in urgent need of care. I was nursed back to health by the flight attendants and a compassionate couple who lives in the town. Together they got me proper veterinary treatment and my foster parents diligently cleaned and treated my wounds everyday. I now happily have a new lease on life!

I am a fun loving playful dog with a heart-melting goofy face and sweet demeanor. I love humans and attention, especially pets on the head. I don't quite understand belly and back rubs, but I am learning to accept them! I promise to be your bff in no time!!

I love to play with my toys and go for walks. Even though I’m about two years old, I have a puppy-like attitude and demeanor and am always down for an adventure! I love to be the center of attention and would do great as the only pup in the house, but at the same time I have some really good dog friends at the shelter and with a slow intro I would make a great second dog too. I’ll definitely make sure to give you my full and undivided love!

My foster parents moved back to Canada and I was transferred to the shelter a few weeks ago. I’m grateful to the volunteers here but it is not the ideal environment for me. I am looking for my forever home that will fit with all of my beautiful and unique qualities. I cannot wait to get to know my fur-ever family! Will I be your future buddy?

Please contact Erika.crail@gmail.com if interested!

BINGO

Hello, my name is Bingo! I’m 3 1/2 years old, and I’m up to date on all my shots! I’ve also been spayed. I’m a husky-mix and because of this I’m small for a husky, but a medium sized dog! Don’t be fooled by me being a husky, I’m very quiet. I am protective of my belongings and will let you know with my growl. Despise being protective I’m a very lovey dog! Pets are much appreciated!! I can be very calm, sleepy, and tired however take me outside and I’ll run like no tomorrow. I love to run in enclosed spaces, and chase balls! My indoor behavior is very well! I am potty trained and crate trained! I am friendly with small kids, however it would be much better if my new home only had teens and older. If you want to learn more about me or adopt me, please contact Marnie at marniemoose14@yahoo.com or 971-777-4030 and more information on me will be provided! Thanks for learning about me.

Bella

Rehoming our wonderful girl "Bella". She is 6 years old, spayed, female, Border Collie mix. We rescued her as a puppy 5 years ago, but recently she is having a hard time transitioning to family life with our young kids and it's clear she needs to be in a kid-free, dog/cat free home.
We're heartbroken as she's truly an incredible girl who loves to play, keep you company, and is calm and chill as long as she gets her good walk, run, or frisbee in for the day. She is a great guard dog, and you can always rely on her to alert you of your upcoming package delivery ; ) She can heal, sit, stay and very food motivated.
She can take time to adjust to strangers but in a calm and controlled setting we've had great luck befriending her to guests and dog sitters.
Located in Portland, OR but happy to transport her for the right home. Michellek.mccabe@gmail.com

GIBBS

My name is Gibbs, I am 2.5 years old and you may look at me and see a pretty big size but it is all love, I don’t have an aggressive bone in my body. I get along with cats, other dogs and I absolutely love children! I am a pretty active dog, I always have energy no matter what even after going on walks and hikes. I am fully house broken, kennel trained if needed. I need someone who will be patience who can handle my pulling on my leash but I love my walks. I am looking for my forever home with my forever family.

PEPPER

Pepper is a 6 year old pointer mix and has that pointer energy. He lives for the chase!!! ...of balls. Pepper loves water too. He'll happily spend over an hour at the dog park and still have energy for a good walk or hike the same day. He can be a little aloof with other dogs he doesn't know well. He is not aggressive but he just knows he'd rather play fetch. When he's had his exercise, Pepper is a very mellow cuddly dog. He is good with other dogs and children. He will let you know when he has energy to burn off though. He's smart but also strong willed. Active owners are a must. He's generally quiet but will bark when dogs or people are passing on the street. Pepper is neutered and is up to date with vaccinations. Unfortunately, after a divorce and as a single dad I don't have enough time to give Pepper the activity he needs. If interested, please contact Jens at 503-410-4842

IRIS

Iris is a 2.5-3 year old pitbull (lab?) mix. She found as a young puppy in a field abandoned but was rescued and provided medical care for vaccinations and heart-worm treatment. She's now a happy and healthy dog. The heart worm may have impacted her interest in intense exercise. She doesn't like to play fetch or run fast with other dogs for long. However, she is usually happy to sit and cuddle. She is is very gentle with children and loves to meet other dogs though she could use some work on her leash manners. She will need a home with people or another dog around most if not all of the day. If interested, please contact Jens at 503-410-4842.

Ranger

Re-homing Ranger: This handsome boy is needing a new range to roam. I adopted him from Family Dogs New Life shelter in February. He is approximately 5 years old, though I feel he is a puppy in a grown dog’s body. Sweet and cuddly boy, loves to play and gets along very well with my other dog. The entire reason I got him was for her to have a friend. He is not dominating, aggressive or resource guarding at all. He really just needs room to play and be a dog. I live in a rental with a very small backyard. A neighbor hasn’t taken to the adjustment period for him to learn the do’s and don’ts, although he is learning rather quickly. Unfortunately, they have been calling and complaining in late morning and afternoon hours every other day and upped their anti to past quiet hours. They do not play at night, this was in the first 30 days of having him, upon my waking as a first shift baker that works very, very early hours. He is very calm to rest and stays quiet through regular hours. However, this puts me at a reason for cause of eviction and I have to either re-home or surrender him back to the shelter to avoid one more complaint that would leave me 10 days to relocate. I’ve been here 6 years; it’s my home, my garden, my safe place and now I feel unable to let them make a peep worried with anxiety. That’s not fair to him or my other dog. They don’t play too loud, but they do play hard. If you have regular hours this shouldn’t be a problem for you. They do enjoy each other very much so he is an awesome dog for anyone with another dog, as long as he has the space and freedom to be a dog. He’s not getting that here, and it breaks my heart. If you’re local he already has a doggie best friend and dog meetups for energy releases. I am requesting a $100 re-homing fee to ensure a person is financially responsible to meet his veterinary/grooming needs, that fee will be donated to the shelter if referred by this site. AND I am requiring a screening to meet all potential owners and if applicable, other dogs.

If interested please contact Kristi at 971-255-6820

Charlie & Eska

Hello! We are Charlie and Eska, a bonded pair of deeply loving brothers!! Charlie (the black) is 13 years old, and Eska (the brown/tan) is 11. We think they are some sort of Chihuahua and Dockson mix and are about 10-12 lbs each. They have spent their entire lives together and are inseparable. They grew up in a loving home until their mother (my friend's grandmother) passed away unexpectedly last year, and no one in the family could take them. They have been living with my boyfriend and me as fosters since. We would like them to stay together as they are closely bonded and manage their quirky anxiety together so well! They are well-behaved and friendly but can become shy and nervous around new people and places. They will likely hang out mostly in their crate/home until comfortable. We are not asking for a re-homing fee but are particular about finding the right home for them. They need an excellent owner to love on them and is available to spend quality at-home time with them. They will come with their harnesses, dog bowls, crate, and 12 months of diamond naturals food. They are fixed, and we are confident they're vaccinated. Still, their vaccination status is unknown, and we are trying to track down some details with their former family members. They are crate-trained to an extent and are housebroken. These two are adorable and well-mannered dogs, shy around new people, places, and other pets, but they get along well with everyone. They do not, however, enjoy being picked up by surprise suddenly. These senior dogs would make excellent companions!

Relocation Fee: $0

LaLoyd

7 months old
neutered male, up to date with shots
Pit Bull Mix
Rehome Fee: $300

Forgive my wiggling butt, I'm just so excited to meet a new friend! My name is LaLoyd and I'm 7 months old. I know it's hard to believe that the handsome puppers with ears for years that stands before you is the same lost and injured puppy my foster family saved from the busy road 5 months ago. It seems like a lifetime ago when I was hungry, battered and broken, with not a friend in the world. My foster friends saw me get hit on the road by a car and rushed me to the doctor where I was fixed up properly. Since then, I've healed and grown and learned so much at puppy social school. I've made so many friends and I'm eager to meet more!

I'm learning my manners when meeting with new people and dogs, even cats! I sleep in my own crate and I'm nearly fully potty trained. What I would really love is to adopt a family who lives in a house with a yard and maybe even an older dog sister to play with, as long as she doesn't mind sharing her toys. Because food was scarce before I came to my foster home, I still get worried about someone taking my food and toys sometimes so I would do best in a home with no young children. My foster home is in a busy area and sometimes that stresses me out. I am still a little weary of loud cars, fast bicycles and barking dogs. That's why I am looking for a family who lives in a quieter neighborhood. I like dog savvy cats, but I admit, I could be tempted to chase one that runs.

I love learning and would love to adopt a person who is willing to take me to a positive training class to continue my studies. My foster mum is retired but has been working on helping me feel comfortable when I'm home alone and I am able to stay home alone for 4 hours at a time already! It helps me a lot that she has a predictable schedule and I'm looking for that in my forever home. While I love playing with other dogs, I can get overwhelmed and overly excited still so I'm not a dog park dog. I prefer playing in smaller groups with guidance from my handlers so I can continue to develop good doggy manners.

I even have a personal tutor, who comes to my house to help make sure I'm learning all the things I need to be healthy and happy as I grow. She is going to be the one helping me find my forever home and will be able to support whatever family I adopt too! If you have any questions or think you might like me to adopt you, please email Denise at denise.behave@gmail.com

HERCULES

He’s a muscley chonker of a sweet heart who in typical Velcro Pittie fashion, just wants to be with his person and cuddle. He was found on the streets of Downey by my partner’s brother, escaped euthanasia, and after two months of trying to work with a rescue (they’re all so inundated atm!) we’ve taken it into our own hands and found a temporary foster in Portland for him. He would do best in a home with someone who has a bit of experience with dogs and has the patience and time to work with him on early signs of separation anxiety. He could be the only dog, or go to a home with another dog of similar strength and an owner that once again, will take the time to integrate the dogs slowly and safely. He loves dogs, but is a big strong male and we want to make sure that it is a good fit for all.

-pittie mix

2-3 years old

-59lb - sweet as could be -loves people, and is good with older kids who understand dogs and boundaries. -has his neuter appointment for 4/4 -needs one last shot we’re working on, then up to date! - NO CATS

-reactive to small critters such as crows and squirrels -seemingly crate trained

BUSBY

Hi, do you like cuddles? I like cuddles. If you love a big old dog who thinks he’s a lap dog, then busby is your dog. Lots of energy for being a larger and older dog but loves early morning and late night walks. I’m a very strong dog so please know that. I have a lot of separation anxiety which is great for you if you work from home so we can cuddle all the time. I like to roll in the grass in a nice open yard but not at dog parks. I don’t like other large dogs especially in my yard. Small dogs that don’t growl are cool and so are cats. I LOVE KIDS MORE THAN WALKS!!

BLUE

Hello my name is BLUE I am an almost 3 year old border collie Aussie mix. I am neutered and no all my basic commands very well.i am crate trained even tho i dont like it.  I am also muzzle trained I am full of energy and love my people. Almost as much as my people love me that’s why it has taken my mom this long to write this she loves me so much she’s been lying to her self about being able to give me the life I deserve . I have a lot of energy and am very pray driven.  I love kids but I am very protective of my kids and I don’t like when there friends chase them or play nurf guns so I need a home that has older kids like 13 or adult only household . I also get a long with other dogs I’m used to but it takes a while for me to warm up a trust other dogs.  I would do best being the only dog. I can NOT LIVE WITH CATS . I have never hurt one but I chase them an hold them down with my paws . Some of my fav things to do are talking to you.. going on hikes and runs playing ball and cuddling up for movies I will sit in your lap like a person to get chest rubs. I have been working on my confidence for a while now and  have 3 other fur brothers but I need to be the only dog….. because I get jealous easy. If your looking for a funny protective cuddle best friend I may just be it I have corks but am very smart and with the right family could be the perfect dog .

THOR

Meet Thor!

Age: 11 months

Breed: Pit/lab mix

Need to rehome good boy. We have a young (about a year old) pit mix that needs a new home. He is a very good boy, good with kids and dogs (we don’t know about cats). He could probably jump a fence but never has, and he has always played very well with our old dog. He is on a grain-free diet , knows basic commands, and crate trained. Thor is still intact but has vaccines.

He needs a home that will give him the attention and care he deserves, and that just isn’t our home. We have an infant and a toddler and just no room for this guy. I do recommend bigger kids being he is still a puppy, although he does do very well with small kids so far.

Thor seems to learn pretty quickly, and is eager to please. He does cry when you leave, but settles down after a few minutes. He is genuinely a good dog, we just cannot provide him with the attention that he needs. We have an old dog that had a mass removed and Thor is just too much puppy for the old boy now and has had to be kept separated, which just isn’t fair to him.

We will send his crate and food dish along with him and we ask that you donate $50 to the shelter as the rehoming fee.

OTIS

We adopted our dog Otis with no known history from the Multnomah County shelter last fall and have provided him with a loving home. He was found by by a good samaritan wandering around Delta Park and was not chipped and had no identification.

He loves us so much, but he's become a bit too protective around our home and children. Otis needs a home without kids and without a lot of new people coming and going. Kids make him nervous and he has nipped - so we made the tough decision to find him a home that is more appropriate and safer for him.
He does love people, but just needs to be introduced in the right way. He's a wonderful, loving dog who will thrive in a calm home - we just have a lot of kids coming and going.
Otis is a playful and very affectionate young pup looking for a quiet, low-traffic home and a new person or family who is experienced with large breeds.

He's smart, obedient, and eager-to-please. He's had basic training and is eager for more. Otis has no health issues, and no naughty behavioral issues like chewing or barking. He is house trained. He loves to snuggle, go for walks, play tug-of-war, keep-away, fetch (working on it!) and any other games you want to teach him!

He's probably about 18 months old.

Teeka

6 years old
90 lbs
Husky

Her behavior - Happy, social, active, smart, easy to train, good communicator, not vocal, friendly with all people, loves all dogs, sweet to cats, does have resource guarding issues that we have been working with her on

Her favorite actives - walking, dog parks, hiking, running, skijoring, boating, trips in the car, anything as long as she is with you

Health - needs grain free food (common for huskies), broken hip at 2 years old (it bothers her sometime but doesn’t stop her from being active), up to date on vaccines

What she needs in a home - walks or plenty of outdoor space, someone at home with her (cat or dog) or not being left alone for long, no small children because she communicates with her mouth and paws which could hurt small children, no chickens unless they are very well protected

We have fostered her on and off for 1 year so we have gotten to know her and train her. Unfortunately, our dog doesn't like having another dog in the home so we can not keep Teeka.
